Well my display back Cosmo is almost here - UPS should be delivering it today so I need to go to my AD to have a genuine croc strap put on it. Looking at the Japanese Breitling site I'm leaning towards the 'gold' colour, but does anyone have any pics / recommendations for a black faced Navi on a croc? I know that some of you will say it needs a bracelet, but my daily wearer (Cockpit) is already black faced on steel and I want a change from that. |

I personally don't like the look of a Black dial on brown/tan straps very much unless it is a Panerai, so I would lean towards a black Croco. The honey brown Croc looks good on a white dial in my opinion but it does draw more attention, so might be okay. Your watch has white subdials? |

I'm all about attention ![]() Yes, the subdials are white. Heres a link to the auction pics - I will post some when I get the new strap on it - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... %26fvi%3D1 |

I'm with Admin on this one. Black croco would set your cosmo off a treat. The only "dark" dialed watch I personally think looks really good on brown leather or croco is the grey dialed CA or Skyland. Each to his own though. |

I just put a brown leather strap with deployment clasp on my black dial skyland and love it. I think it gives it a classic pilot watch look. I do agree that a light brown or honey colored strap may not look as sharp. The dark brown should look good. And the only reason I tried this is I saw it on a Panerai but didn't want to shell out the 7 Gs when a strap was just a couple hundred. My two cents...CK |

Thanks Ron, amazing pics as always - now I'm even more confused ![]() It'll definitely be fun visiting the AD to decide anyway VillageIdiot wrote: *dribble*
I'm sitting here wearing the watch now and I just can't tell you how happy I am. It still has the aftermarket strap on it, but this watch just really gets to me. It's one of the earlier ones - serial 1183, the 17 jewel version rather than 18, and was originally sold in Bologna, Italy in 1995. It's in remarkably good condition for a 13 year old watch - a small mark on the seconds sub-dial, and may need a service, I'll see how it settles, but the case and crystals are in great condition and the bezel is as smooth as silk. It's remarkable how a collection of little metal parts (and one delrin part) can make a grown man feel - but then you all know that...... |

A quick update - I went with black croc on deployant - wondered about deployant as it's an exhibition back, but comfort one out - with my wrists the tang strap is in the last hole and jusst doesn't feel right. It's still sitting at the AD right now for a bit of diagnosis - gaining around 3 minutes a day so a service is likely in order. |

Looking forward to see it when you get it back! Hope it's in your hands soon enough, without the added massive bill... |

Hope it's in your hands soon enough, without the added massive bill... I have it back right now - diagnosis undetermined pending more information. The watch had been sitting without running for sometime so I expected it to take a while to settle in, just wasn't expecting that big a change. My AD is very good at not taking money unnecessarily, and they feel that it may just need to be regulated, but suggested that I wear it / run it for a while and see how it stabilises. In the last 12 hours it's actually lost nearly a minute, so clearly it's still figuring things out. A temporary, minor problem either way - it'll only take money to fix!! Photos may have to wait until the weekend as my evenings are rather short, but will get them up asap. |

At least that would be 2 minutes in 24 hours - one minute improvement to earlier. Sounds like a fair AD you have got your hands on. Good luck with the rest of the settling! |
