I'm sure this has been discussed before. Operating the slide rule for the Navi World. HOW DO YOU DO IT?! Even when I went ot visit George last weekend at Govbergs, I asked him to show me...he didn't even know how!

I was hoping someone with a Navitimer (world) can make a video ad post it on Youtube. This way there is no confusion and everyone can actually understand the thing :D . Let's be honest... I'll bet any money 99% of the people that own Breitlings can't give you a straight answer on how to operate one.

Just a thought.... This is something that will definitely generate a lot of interest!

This way there is no confusing instructions, just a video!

Who's gonna be the hero?! Anyone......

The 2010 Chronologue has a pretty interesting graphic and explanation.

I think that is a fantastic idea. I have read the instructions that came with my World I don't know how many times, and it still makes no sense to me.

I need a Dummy's Guide to Breitling's Slide Rule!

Well, I don't know exactly how much help this will be, but the slide rule essentially is a "dumbed" down E6B flight slide rule. I honestly had to relearn how to use this on my new Navi World, shows what 20 years of calculators will do to you. But here is a link to instructions on how to use an E6B slide rule, they are better IMO than the directions that come from Breitling. Bear in mind that our slide ruler doesn't perform all the same functions.

Hope this helps some.

It's not a Breitling, but it is a fairly clear walkthrough of using a slide ruler on an aviation watch to figure out math, time, rate, and distance, and currency conversions.

I hope this helps.

Enjoy.

 Aren't all Breitling owners pilots? C'mon, these are 'instruments for professionals' :poke:
The E6B (circular slide rule) is kinda like a new phone these days, if not used daily - have to refer to the manual to keep current.

If your eyes are good it can come in handy for quick multiplication and division calculations.

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a section on this site that had instructions on the sliderule.............

(It's OK, it's only been there about 3 1/2 years) :poke:

I had to learn all the E-6B calculations for my PPL. Easy once you get the hang of it.

The videos are really good and much simpler to understand than my training manuals!

YES! That's perfect! Thank you Sir. :D

This should be posted in the section on how to use the slide rule for B-Source, regardless if its a Breitling or not. Much easier to understand, let allow read. VERY INFORMATIVE!

The point was that those of us who are :tard: can't follow the Breitling instructions.

EXACTLY! Some one should remake that video with the Navitimer series so it can be posted on here for others to look at.

This site may be of some benefit in understanding the slide rule as well. It's in German but takes you through most of the calculations available. (Zuruck) clears the calculator.

I've noticed that the slide rule on the B4B is different. Does anyone know how to use that one?
