Post subject:  Buying in the US

All, if you buy a Breitling (Or any other high end watch) whilst on holiday in the US do you still have to pay the sales tax ?
I only ask as I seem to remember reading somewhere
(Although I may have dreamt it :? )
that if you are non resident you either dont have to pay sales tax or you can reclaim the sales tax, does it matter if the piece is new or pre-owned ?, is this correct, or am I talking cobblers ?
regards, The Soulman.

If you buy it in person, you will pay sales tax. They must collect it unless you have a tax exempt number.

If you order it over the 'net or mail order, they'll not collect sales tax unless you're having it shipped to the same state the store is in.

If you buy out of state and have it shipped to you into another state some stores do not charge you tax.

Also for my watch I was able to not pay taxes at all but I had to pay all cash...it really all depends on where you buy the watch from etc...
