I thought that too with the sub-dial layout, but the BB still has a distinctive look with the Big Date and the fact that it's just cooler

I agree, and while there are obviously differences it's quite close, and kind of makes me wonder if Breitling will bother making a in-house BB at this stage. I wouldn't be surpised if an in-house (if one ever happens) will be a way down the road, sometime after all these LEs have been long sold.

Definately a slight "Blackbirdish" look.
The DB is amazing, great to see on a Breitling again. The people I've shown love the sapphire caseback.

I certainly wouldnt be surprised to see a Blackbird version of this watch. Swap out the bracelet, throw on a new bezel, replace caseback. Voila!

BTW, all these real life shots of the B01 movement are very impressive. Design wise, its very good looking movement, and it has great features that us regular folk can actually use regularly and appreciate.

Nice watch. Congrats on the purchase. What is the water resistancy on this piece?

200M

The regular B01 states 500m ... Is this due the sapphire caseback :?:

But I love the B01 and the brushed finish is awesome indeed. No fan of the caseback but really very beautiful watch :superman: :superman: :superman:

Which makes absolutely no sense in my opinion.

If it can be 500m with a sapphire on the front, then........

I know that it's the doming to some degree, but there are many DB watches waterproof to more than 200m.

Thanks for all the comments on my watch. The back really is a thing of beauty.
Spoke to my local Breitling dealer and he said he had heard that there were a few in the UK and a jewellers in Southport had one. Don't know the name of it though.

Do you think Breitling would install a sapphire caseback on a earlier model if the caseback fit?

My usual guy in London tells me that there is definately one in Southport, he thinks it is in Peter Jackson.

Good luck if anyone can get one

They haven't all been issued by Breitling yet so just have an AD order one for you.
