Based on the overwhelming recommendation to concider the Steelfish as an everyday wearer, I finally checked it out in person. Great looking watch!! The dealer had the blue dial one, which to me looked much darker than how it appeared online. It also had the "pin wheel" type dial. To the Steelfish owners...Blue or Black dial?? I have only seen blue in person (which almost looked black) Thanks

Well, as an everyday wearer, you probably have more versatility with the black - but hey, I had a silver dial one ?? I never have seen a blue steelfish in person but the pictures look amazing as you said. Tough call, sure you'll hear some more opinions.

Good luck with the decision! (that's half the fun).

I don't think you could really go wrong with either. Personally I like black better, but I like black dials on all watches better.

I like the blue - it's a shade I still haven't seen elsewhere.

I have it with a black dial on black rubber - very nice.

I always think the black works better against the steel case than the blue does. It's also a more versatile colour.

Still, it's a great watch in either colour. My favourite.

I highly recommend the silver dial. That's what I have on mine and I love it. I honestly think it's one of the best looking, most versatile watches I've ever seen.

I owned a black one (plus 2 silvers) but never wanted the blue. Blue I find to be the least versatile of the "common" colours. Black all the way AFAIC.

I haven't seen the blue dial in person but I've seen some really high quality pictures and it does look quite amazing. However, I opted for the black dial since it's a more versatile color and I can wear it with pretty much anything for any occasion. Try to find a black dial one you can look at in the flesh and you're heart should be able to guide you with your decision.

Good luck!

I have the black and silver versions. The black dialed Steelfish with an Ocean Racer strap is on my wrist almost everyday, from morning to bedtime. I reserve to silverone for weekends when I am not in working mode (ie, lawnmowing and anything consisting of manual labor). The silver one is on the Pro2 bracelet and it is definitely dressier IMO. The black one on rubber is the perfect everyday watch, IMHO.

I have tried on the blue one and it is a fine watch but the color alone is very casual to my eye. It would e a little harder to dress up the blue one. But the silver or black one is pretty dressy with a croc strap attached.

I decided on the blue, picked up an OR on deployant, and now it looks like this

Great Picture! Regarding buying additional straps/bracelets. Lets say I buy a Breitling with a leather strap then down the road want a steel braclet, does that "mess up" the serial numbers or anything. In other words, does each case have a specific band associated with it, so people know this band goes with this case? Or do the bracelets not have numbers? Thanks

As far as the rubber, leather or croco straps go, you can choose whichever of the 3 you want (provided it fits the lug width of your watch, in the case of the steelfish it's 22mm), pick any colour you want and choose whether you want it with a tang clasp or a deployant when you buy the watch, the AD will adjust the price accordingly.

As far as the bracelet goes, the steelfish comes with the pro II, there are specific end links for each watch that need to be supplied with the bracelt so the bracelet contour matches with the case contour.

In short you can order the steel fish with any strap or the Pro II bracelet, you can also buy a strap or bracelet later as well.
