Don't know if this has been asked before but I have the chance to buy a second hand Aerospace Titanium and wondered if there was some way to check serial numbers. The seller has provided the following to me: Purchased 16 Feb 04 Ser No: 94223 Warranty Certificate No: 1113601937 Attestation de Chronometre No: 9903664652 The guy seems very genuine from my initial dealing but as Breitling are so in demand I still have concerns ( he may not know if it isn;t real ) Thanks Steve |

There is no way to definitively get an answer on authenticity unless you physically send the watch in to Breitling. However, you can phone Breitling and give them the model number (which you haven't got there) and serial number and they can tell you firstly if they numbers match up to the model, secondly if the watch has ever been in to them for servicing (i.e. if it has any history with them), and lastly if it is recorded as stolen on their database. However, the only way to be 100% is to send it in to Breitling (and by that I don't just mean your AD.... although they can send it in for you). |

What Driver 8 said. After 1978 Breitling serial numbers don't follow any pattern so there is no reference. Even before 1978 you could only date the watch, not confirm model. |

Hello, I had my Chronomat Evolution stolen in 2006........I still have all the information on it purchase and numbers.......will Brietling take an active part of seizing watches if I am able to provide them with this evidence if it ever comes back in for service. |

As I said in your intro thread they can monitor whether stolen watches come in for servicing or repairs. Not sure what they do though as there may be issues over ownership if the current buyer bought in good faith - it depends on different lawas in different areas. |

I am going to see what I can find out with Breitling in north america pn my stolen chronomat. I made a police report with Serial numbers etc so I can prove it was indeed filed prior to others purchase and the original owner is willing to agree I took ownership and never conveyed it to anyone else. (i bought it from a buddy in time of need). Ill hopefully be able to update soon. |
