I just got another Breitling :D

It's a model that I've been after for quite some time......

It is, in my opinion one of the most beautiful watches that Breitling has made in the last 20 years........

It's a limited edition.........

No - I think I'll leave you guessing for a while.

Anyone care to guess?

A couple of clues:

Ron has one, in fact I believe Ron has two.
It may spend more time off my wrist than you would imagine....

oooh, oooh, oooh... Black Steel anyone???

If so... Im so jealous. I want one real bad but the premium they are bringing is stopping me from getting one.

Come on Driver 8 - you're getting close - but a manual wind Cosmo isn't a limited edition - what else would it need to be LE???

Nice! I was wondering who was gonna win that auction. I thought about bidding myself but decided against it - spent too much lately... Congrats!

Thats a great watch!!! The dial is too complicated for me to actually wear but it is a beauty!!! The display back is awesome, I wish more Breitlings came with them. The 6.75 would be perfect if it had one in place of the absurd spoke wheel back.

I was definitely lucky - my top bid was only GBP1 higher than the next bidder, but feel that I got it at a fair price, especially with papers - may not agree after Canada Customs get their hands on it though.

Shame it's not the 18 jewel version, but I'm not complaining!

Next decision is to figure out what to replace that monstrosity of a strap with - I'm thinking the Gold (mid brown) Croc. Will likely go deployant even though tang would make the back easier to see.

Incidentally, we all know that there aren't many display backs because most watches are automatics these days - but not sure how well knownit is why the Cosmo was manual wind. The logic was that it had to be manual wind because an automatic watch wouldn't work in a zero gravity environment. I believe that there have been automatics used successfully in space now, but there you go - another useless fact.

What do you mean with the display back vs automatic movement? The three watches I have with display backs are automatic movements.

I heard that about the original Omega Speedmaster (or Moon Watch) too. In actual fact, an automatic performs better in zero gravity as their is less resistance for the rotor. Incidentally, the space aspect is why the Moon Watch has a Hesalite (i.e. acrylic) crystal. Apparently the reasoning was that if a watch was to get broken in space, the acrylic would break into less dangerous pieces as the last thing you'd want in space is tiny shards of mineral glass floating around! Useless trivia all round....

I can't view ebay at work but have seen pics of this watch. Very nice

I don't use ebay much but I believe you always win the auction by the smallest fraction over and above the second place.

e.g. if you'd bid $100,000 for the Cosmo (she's a beauty after all  ) you'd still have won the auction by just one pound.
