Im considering getting insuranec on my watches(just in case) using my esisting car/home insurance. They told me I have to get an official appraisal on them. 2 questions, How much should I pay for a appraisal? How much should I be paying for insurance?

Try contacting the AD where you purchased the watch. They will probably do it for free. I would look into Jewelers Mutual. I have them on a few items and they are inexpensive and great to work with. It varies from state to state but I pay $1.30 for every $100 in value. If there is something better out there let me know.

The first step is determining what model/(s) you have.. You should expect to pay around 1% per year premium. So lets say retail on your Super Avenger is $4550, you should be paying between $45-55 yearly depending on where you live... like mwheatley, I use Jewelers Mutual as well

There are quite a few threads on here about insurance, general consensus seems to be that there is no consensus - it varies wildly by jurisdiction and company.

In terms of appraisal, an AD appraisal should be plenty (and should be free) unless it's a really unusual piece.
