Why does it seem the "deployment" straps are less desired than the tang style straps? Is a deployment strap the best route to fit my "girlie" wrists, since its almost pull tight adjustment?

Strange, as the deployant always seems to be more popular than tang. How did you make that conclusion?

The only reason I can think of is that some people, even if they prefer the deployant, prefer the much lower cost of a tang buckle even more.

Agree with aleister, aside from the cost issue deployants seem to be much preferred.

Agreed. I'd also add that while Tang is certainly less expensive than a deployment it is certainly 'harder' on the leather particularly at the buckle point where you bend the leather and insert; not that anyone ever sees that part.

Not sure one is 'better' than the other, it's really a preference. I have small wrists and I use a buckle just fine.

I agree with the 2 guys above, I have several straps most are deployment, out of the 7 straps that I have 5 are deployment and the 2 that are not I didnt buy

Yes the tangs are much cheaper but I'm too worried I wi drop watch to use them plus the deployment look better and feel better the just don't fit under cuffs better

in fact ihave a nice brown crocoon the bentley I have on today

Agreed. There's a whole lot of love on here for the deployant.

Sorry  , Ive only owned stainless steel bracelets on my Lings. With deployment, it appears that it is an "endless" adjustment. Can it be adjusted tighter than tang style?

Not sure where I read it, but I think the tang is actually the smaller fitting of the two, excluding special order short straps. My wrist is about 6.75" and I use the smallest hole on the tang.

I bought all of mine on bracelet too but with croco and leather it's like having a second watch for each one u own! Much cheaper than buying a whole extra watch

One thing to bear in mind is that the surplus strap goes on the inside with the deployant and on the outside with the tang. This might affect the comfort of wearing the deployant 'tight'.

That said, I've got a 6.75ish wrist and the normal size deployant strap fits fine - even though I had a bit of a saga getting one. I like to wear my watch loose and, while the strap fits differently to the bracelet (it moves less, partly due to friction), it is very comfortable and I'm more than happy.

Yup I'm another fan of the deployant. For 2 reasons:

*able to be manipulated to an almost perfect fit

*looks tidier than the tang buckle

BUT, the cons are

*price, and

*in my experience, the Breitling depl. clasp is not as secure as the tang buckle. A number of times, i've had the deployant strap (on different Lings) pop open after accidentally knocking it on the e-brake or a table etc.
