Way too expensive if thats right. 49 would look stupid on my wrists, but the picture doesn't look as big as a 49.

Think the actual watch looks good, or it will in silver metal and a yellow face. Infact it won't look a millions miles away from the previous one.

In August 2010, when Dassault France told Breitling that we won't produce any more ELT, I think that Breilting France baught all availble ELT from Dassault for repair, spare parts.
I hope that they will maintain their service for this great Watch like Emergency I (quartz & Superquartz) until they can use spart parts.
A retrofit to the new Emergency II or like the Pluton (old Myota no longer available for repair agint a new Aerospace Watch), a change with money in order toget a new one at a very fair price? => I love this trade....
I will try to get some more information from the Breitling Boutique in Paris, France.

Agree with all of the above, except for the size as I personally can get away with 49mm watches.

As I said before though, the price (if correct) is just insane. $12K USD is around £8K GBP! Just crazy money for a quartz. I'm being totally priced out of high-end watches these days.

That said (and I've been looking at that solitary pic of the DLC'd E2 some more), I think this really is the best looking new Breitling since the TOC and Navi 01.

I'm actually amazing myself here by saying that as a) it's quartz, and b) it's DLC'd, but so far I think it's superb looking. Time will tell when it's released properly......

Looks good in coral :)

Although 3/10 for the crash in that video lol. Least they didn't go for a CGI quicksand scene!

 Yeah, when it says "What's next", my answer is, "Errrr, the guy gets up, brushes himself off, gets back on his bike and rides off"! Not exactly the most spectacular of crashes is it!

But I'm still loving the look of the E2. I think it's going to be a real winner (except for the price).

:yeahthat
As a lifelong rider, a lowspeed crash into soft sand is about as "best case scenario" as you can get... :uplaugh:

FYI- that D-ring on the M/C helmet is 32mm wide, so based on that blurry screen shot I calculated a little over 50mm diameter, so the rumored 49mm is definitely in the right ballpark.
Would love it in yellow! but at $12k USD, I would buy another motorcycle first.

If someone at Breitling marketing is reading these posts...
How about some teasers in yellow or coral dials? :poke:
I mean really? Blue, black, silver, are not my idea of a high visibility dial on the "Ultimate Tool Watch".

Don't forget, this is an aeronautical instrument before a watch. Breitling have always stated that since the first E was released. It's primary function is transmitting a distress signal.

However, looking at the videos this is now a tool for all types of emergencies, air, land, sea. That being said, it is still an ELT first and a watch second, the majority of people who would drop 10K on this wouldn't be buying it for the function of telling time (perhaps for dual time zones) , they would be buying it for the transmitter (albeit a very expensive transmitter), so the fact it is a quartz would mean nothing to them, IMO of course.

I imagine SuperQuartz will be the only option (can't see them going back to standard quartz), unless they have a more up to date quartz movement to supersede it.

Saying that the Emergency (1 or 2) is an ELT first and a watch second is a bit like saying that that the chronograph is an Olympic stop watch first and a normal watch second.
I would never want to rely on my Emergency watch as a primary distress device as a recreational pilot, mountain climber, sailor, etc.... I would be making sure that I am equipped with a device specifically designed for such a purpose with GPS capabilities, etc....
The Emergency is just a fancy gimmick that might just happen to save a life but as I said, I would not want to rely on it in situations where I may need one.
