The issue will be replacing the transmitter once it has been used in an emergency as Dassault have ceased producing them on that particular frequency range. However, Breitling have a large stock of them, so they will be available for many years to come, that is, unless every E owner sets the transmitter off in the next 12 months

A service and transmitter replacement are two totally different things.

I've just seen a spy pic on Breitling Facebook page that looks very plausible:

If this is the new breitling emergency I think it looks nice and different. Great photo shot as well. :D :D

I was probably confused with this and misread someone elses post on it elsewhere :-)

Good to hear the E1 remains serviceable!

I have been dreaming of owning an Emergency for about 2 years, and I have finally been able to afford one (coral dial from a UK Breitling Dealer), and now they announce this

What do you guys think about the original? Will this now be classed as a classic time piece? Will the value of second hand E's increase? I don't think I will ever sell mine as it has been a grail watch for so long, but just curious.

It's not on a UTC bracelet anymore, but on a Diver Pro :)

Are you me? I just picked up a coral too after a long time of wanting (let me know if you want rid of the UTC).

I'm hoping to pick up a Mission soon, as well. I can't see the prices dropping too much I can only see the new price rising.

At the end of the day, the old one still does the job it was designed to, so the 'value' is still there.

I second that! I really like this and it retains the older E styling. Even the blacksteel I can get behind for this model.

And I thought I was too aggressive with my 7K estimate

12K, with Breitling's price policing, seems like quite a bit.

here's that claimed "spy pic", might not stay on the Breitling fb page too long.

I actually like the look of that.... A LOT! And bizarrely I think the Blacksteel really suits it!

BUT, if FEAR's numbers are right (and I have no doubt they are), "at least 10k, closer to 12k" is a crazy figure.

Sadly if FEAR is right, I'll be looking elsewhere. Too big and too pricey.

As for the new video... I thought the CGI on the 2nd one was a bit too much... but this 3rd one?!? Terrible!!
