Interesting to see people's replies on performance.
So do you guys ever adjust the time on your watch, say after a month?

Like I said, I can be a bit OCD and I adjust it if it's a whole minute or more faster.

I tend to leave my watch on the side overnight, does this make the watch perform faster as opposed to leaving it on it's caseback?

I generally only adjust mine when I have to adjust it for the month or for daylight savings.

A watch will generally run faster on it's side than on it's back.

The date on the watch from memory was 3707 but I will double check. So it wasn't sitting around for years it was sold in less than 6 months from production. It also has the speed 2 braclet dated 07 which would be right for the date of the watch.
I as told by the previous owner that he got it serviced because he had hardly worn the watch and sent it away for a service. I got the feeling that he thought he might not be doing the watch any good by not wearing it. I can only take this at face value as to his reasoning for this. But have no real reason to doubt it. Not everyone know that much about the things they buy i certainly know more now than when my wife purchased the watch. But it could have been for something else. Which is why I wondered what records Breitling holds. But it has a Breitling stamp in the book and a signature over the top.

That watch is therefore not 4 years old until mid September so I see absolutely no need to service it now (even if it had never been touched by Breitling), that's just throwing money away. A simple regulation should be all that's needed if it bugs you.

Ok so who can I take it to for regulation? I'm not inclined to stick it in the post for obvious reasons. I would rather take it there. BUK isn't that far from me Tonbridge Wells I believe? So I'm open to suggestion as to where is can be regulated and by someone who knows what there doing. But BUK seems like the likely candidate due to there proximity to me. I would say 1 1/4 drive into Kent.

As I have a Breitling stamp in the book I am assuming that the previous service was done at BUK or if it was done somewhere else would it still have a Breitling stamp in the book ?

The stamp will mean a Breitling approvedf watchmaker, which I think is just BUK in the UK. Any watchmaker with a timing machine and a pressure tester should be able to regulate the watch, I know that Driver8 had an issue with a Breitling AD wanting to send the watch to BUK for regulation so he ended up going to a Rolex AD and paying a few quid. You should be able to take it to BUK as well, but a local watchmaker may be more convenient in case it needs to go back for a quick 'tweak'.

Correct. It was for one of my old SF's : my old Breitling AD said it would need to go to BUK for a number of weeks just for a regulation  , but a Rolex AD I knew of (with a Rolex trained in-store watchmaker, plus a timing machine and a pressure tester) did it within 48 hours........ and it was only 48 hours on account of him having to get the correct replacement gasket.
