Like one example, the SMP with the speedie bracelet... particularly the 2254.50... I remember like even last year they were only going for 1100-1300... now I'd be lucky to find one for 1.5k... some excellent examples with box and papers are going for almost 2K...

I noticed that while looking to rebuild my collection in the past month. I always liked that model and assumed, wrongly, that I could always pick one up on the used market inexpensively. I thought about buying an electric blue SMP like the one I owned years ago instead of the Sinn I just bought to save a little money for another purchase. The savings wasn't that much. Maybe the ""timeless" look of a late-model SMP is giving it the same sort of bump as old Subs, as mentioned above.

it's funny how things go here in Japan....
USD and Euro has just weakened over the last couple of years, and list price of Breitling watches has just raised almost every year....
just do the math, Euro lost about 37% of its value since 2008, and in the same time frame Breitling Skyland has its list price raised about 16%, how come?

I was in Hongkong 2 years ago and was shocked :wowzers to see a Pre-Owned Breitling Steelfish being sold at a price that you could have bought brand new here in the US.

Nothing shocking about this. A bit of negotiating and its yours for half the price.
Of course this applies to pre-owned, not new pieces from ADs.

Wessa.

I do believe the "dislike" for current models has influenced the pre-own pricing.
