That is an awful thought. Too lose such a beautiful is awful. I hope everything works out with UPS. Living in Canada I have noticed our mail service is a bit nonchalant when it comes to some things?? Keep the forum informed I know we will all love to find out how this is resolved...

Well as of right now. Ups called me yesterday to get my email address for me to sign stating that I haven't recieved my watch. They have to interview the driver. More updates in within the next week or so.

Oy, what a mess. Don't they even look at the signatures? If they're going to go to the trouble of requiring a signature, why don't they also require an ID at the same time, to verify who's signing? (As an aside, when I ordered from Govberg, I was told I'd have to show an ID to the FedEx driver, simply to verify that I was over 18, and thus legal to sign. I was never asked for it, though. The driver just looked at me and said, "You're over 18, right?" So it wasn't about verifying my identity. Seems to me verifying identity would go a long way toward preventing these kinds of mix-ups.) Anyway, I hope this all gets worked out.

So I got a disappointing message from Aleister today. UPS contacted him thru email saying that they've lost hope in looking for my Bentley.

So whoever found my watch got one sick steal!! I wish I had some kind of luck like that.

That is awful!!!! I doubt UPS will even pay on the claim, never have I seen or heard anyone who collected on a claim when insurance was purchased. I sure hope I am wrong.

that is indeed a sad story, sure hope your insurance will compensate you for it

unfortunately I dont have any good experiences when it comes to lost items claims myself. A few years back Royal Mail lost a package for months, then delivered a shredded scanner with missing parts to my door and refused to pay for it..... the bastards just kept ignoring my letters... making a legal claim would cost me more than the scanner and thats what they play on.

Hope it all works out for you though

Wow really?? Well I sure hope your wrong on this one Mac! Lol. If that's the case than why do people buy insurance?

If for some reason they don't pay. I'll contact either paypal or visa to see what they can do.

I hope I am wrong too. Ups is about worthless when it comes to tracing and tracking packages. I think the insurance is just more profit for them ,and to the make shipper feel better .

About a year or two ago (im sure you can find it if you search) somebody here had UPS try and deny his claim. He ended taking them to court and winning.

That is exactly why class action suits exist.

You should report the serial number to BUSA, so they put it on a list, then the watch might be confiscated when brougth to the service.

If it ever does...

The bad guy can always service it at his local watchmaker.

But I agree that that's a good move, it will seriously limit options.

Well as of right now, I just got a message from Aleister saying that UPS will be paying him for the price for the watch. And I will be waiting to get my refund back from him. Now I'm just hoping UPS don't dink around and just pay.

As for the feedback situation, I'm 100% guarantee Aleister is a legit man!! He sent the watch out right when payment was made and it came all the way from Sweden to canada right quick. I will buy a watch off him anytime if he's selling the one I'm looking for next.

Finally some good news for you David.

I hope that it will end like it should (as George Strait would say :) ).
