Finally, a speedmaster with date!

To me, the Speedmaster more closely resembles the TAG Heuer Carrera. I do see a resemblance in the dial layout between the Speedmaster and Transocean, but the Breitling case is more classic, less modern, in my opinion.

What are those long lines on the subdial at 3?

Vintage Navis also have that marks.
They mark 3 minute intervals used for long distance calls in the past.

I guess this hideous nightmare is going to become a reality. Jeez I hate it...I really can't stand to even look at it. Is this the first non-rotating Breitling bezel?

The first for quite a few years, certainly. Back in the 40's and 50's it was rotating bezels that were rare.

Gee, Serg, is it really any worse than some of the other crap Breitling has come out with recently?

YES. IMO it's horrible looking.

Doesn't the Mark VI's bezel rotate? I've never handled one, so just assumed it was the same as all the other (round) Bentleys. Learn something new every day.

Yes, yes, I know the Flying B's don't rotate, but I was kind of thinking of round ones for fairly obvious reasons!

Worse than the new SuperOcean or the glossy Buck Rogers bezel? What about the TO strikes you as so horrible? It's not my favorite design in the world, but at least it dials back on the huge-and-ugly fixation Breitling seems to have had recently.

I happen to like the new SuperOcean a lot; it's a very nice sport watch at a great price point. You get a lot of watch for the money with the SOII. IMO the TO is extremely un-unique. The bezel looks just like a master compressor, the tachymeter looks just like an Omega Speedy, and once again all B01's have the same exact chrono layout, which in my opinion is now becoming boring. Is this supposed to be a dress watch or a sport watch or a casual watch? It has no identity to me. I love Breitlings because when you see one they scream Breitling, the TO doesn't do that and I hate it. I hate everything about it except the display back...if this watch was given to me i'd wear it inside out.

I like that signature Sergio.

I have to disagree with you on the Transocean though, I really really like that. As much as I love my slide rule, it's actually nice too see a model without a bezel of any kind; shows a really clean dial. Mind you as much as I think I like the transocean, I equally dislike that mesh bracelet! I hope my AD has some soon!

Just curious, but what does everyone think of this one compared to the Superocean Heritage?

I like the comparison, granted in styling alone. Both watches have very clean dials, but remain pretty damn sporty at the same time.

I like the Transocean considerably more than I like the SOH.... and I certainly don't dislike the SOH either. Personally I think the new Transocean is one of the finest looking watches Breitling have made in recent years - honestly. To me this absolutely stands alongside the Navi 01 and the Chronomatic 01 LE in terms of the best watches Breitling have made in years. I love the classic look of the TO. The only thing I'm not that keen on is the mesh bracelet as the only watch I like on mesh is the Ploprof. But that aside I think the TO is a fantastic addition to the range. (Obviously I've yet to see one in the flesh but on the strength of the pictures, I love it).
