Was at my AD yesterday. They did not have any word about the Blackbird B01, although they agreed it is certainly a probability. Hope they adapt the movement to have the big date as well!
They still can't keep enough of the Blackbird model in stock. Soon as they receive one, it's gone within a few days.
They had just received an Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel LE, which is beautiful. It is also the first time I tried on a watch with the Diver Pro II strap, and was very impressed. It is one of the most comfortable straps I have tried, and it would suit me just fine with the tang buckle. Very soft and pliable were my observations.
I think the MSRP was $4675CAD, which I didn't think was bad at all. I realize it does have a quartz movement, but one of the finest IMO.

Was that at La Swiss Carl?

It was at Time & Gold. I have been in La Swiss a couple of times lately, but they don't seem to have much stock of any models any more. They actually have an older chrono model in their window display, with a PRO I bracelet! A couple of other watches I have seen there for over a year. Not very well displayed, and not very desirable models.
Time & Gold keep pretty current. They seem to have a very high turnover. Lots of new Superocean II models at the moment as well. A couple of Steelfish, some Colts and a fair selection of Navitimers.

I'm going waaaaay out on a limb here - I have enough confidence in Breitling to believe the new BB will be unmolested and will look the same. Take away the big date, and it's not a Blackbird anymore.

I made my mind up that the BB will be my next watch once we get word it will have the B01~ in it, and in the meantime I will try to resist deals too good to pass up, Shark you are a bad influence on me!

Agreed, I'll keep my current one if the big date is gone. Unless they have something new up their sleeve that pleasantly surprises me.
And who is this Marie that your cyber-toadying?

You disappoint me so. It's pure unadulterated admiration with no subtext or agenda.

But....... if it were to be a petition - there might be but a handful of private buyers in the States who purchased more new Lings in the last 11 months. Just sayin'.

And of course it would include notes written in crayon from the children of AD employees who otherwise would have had no Christmas presents under the tree this year.

And the tear stained thank you card from the short time BUSA worker who was rescued from the unemployment lines.

And a poem entitled "I'm Grateful for Sharkman" from my UPS guy who still drives a route thanks to the consistent shipments from Danbury Connecticut.

And a picture of a tiny crutch all alone in the corner - a picture of what could have been.

Just some simple, humble stuff like that.
