Hello all. I just purchased this off of ebay without doing my homework. Can anybody tell me if this is real or fake? The seller says that it is gold plated, 35mm, and is a Ref. 1355. The serial number is 764854, and the seller says it was manufactured in 1955. Thank you all!

I'd be worried about this one. Even though the supporting information one usually looks for appears to be correct (ref, S/N) it looks wrong. Dial looks like a repaint which always makes one look closer. Notice how the 'Breitling' and other information on the back isn't centered. Looks like freshly done to me too. I'd send it back if possible. Genuine versions don't sell for a lot so, hopefully, you didn't pay too much for it.

Thank you for your insight! Do you think it could just be a "Frankenwatch" or is the whole thing garbage? My main concern is that I have not been able to find a similar looking watch.

Update: I initiated a return request on ebay about 15 minutes ago, and right away the seller refunded the money. Crisis averted.

General rule of thumb for me is to stay away from any Breitling of this style offered by sellers in Argentina and Italy. Too many fakes coming out of both locations. They are smart enough to know what's required to make the watches look legitimate. Glad you got your money back.
