Hi guys,

could you look at this for me please?

It looks ok to me except for the crown wheel and the stamps made later on the bridge and internal movement.

Bezel insert looks wrong, crystal is also wrong (but that's minor).

watch could actually be original. Steel Chronomat 769 cases produced in 1946 were used up well into the 1950s, so we need to look at how well the other components "fit" - and in this case, the "fat print" insert, the Geneve dial, the unlumed sword hands, movement markings and even crown fit well for a mid 1950s assembly; late, but we've seen those.

crystal is incorrect, but, as Dave says, that's a minor issue.

I would never disagree, but would love to see that bezel insert more closely...

It looks like it has had some work form non Breitling dealers / service centers and had additional engraving and stamps inside the case.

the seller did state replacement crystal.

Did this originally come with a B logo marked crown? I think this is an addition.

Additionally some components below the bridge look to be replaced with non standard parts.

Really grateful for the advice guys.

watches assembled from the mid 1950s onwards had signed crowns.

almost every vintage Breitling on earth has been serviced by "non-Breitling service centers" or Breitling AD - and with the exception of ONE such service center on earth (including Breitling Switzerland), the Heists in Philadelphia, that is a very good thing, because they tend to butcher vintage watches.

incorrect watches, issues with accepting returns of incorrectly described watches were reported by members here, a forum search should bring these up. personal experience with a watch I've won (at an unexpectedly good price) and paid for, only to then be informed he "had to cancel the sale as the watch overnight showed technical issues", still waiting to hear back if he's had the watch repaired and he would honor the sale, but no high hopes here.

so proceeding with caution would be advised.

Thank you I did do a search but could not find anything.

I will defiantly question him on this.

He might have been offered a higher price. Just a guess.
