My wife's 2 month old Super Ocean 36 is keeps time well, I have recently wound it manually a couple of times and each time when I wind it feels/hears like I am lifting the internal guts if the watch on each rotation.

It winds OK and nothing else odd happens during the winding it just does not feel right, it this simply the winding clutch engaging each time or the start of something more sinister?

Standard cause is the rotor not disengaging so manual winding causes the rotor to spin. Simple fix but needs service attention.

Thanks, for the reply it does not feel like that as once turning there is no real weight to the wind. If you don't wind and just take up the slack and release it again you can feel the mechanism "lifting" inside the case.

If it's only 2 months old you should seek a warranty claim.

That would not be an issue, I just wanted to see if this was "standard" for this watch.

If the movement we're moving you would see it - the hands and dial are attached to the movement.

Fair comment and that is what I thought, it is just what it feels like.

UPDATE: AD has inspected and offered a new watch as a replacement or a service centre repair, I think my good lady will take the repair.

Another update: My wife took the new replacement to expidite the "repair" fresh in from BUK, the new watch has stopped twice in the last 5 days and that is with it being worn 16 hours a day and fully wound (manually) twice.

This is really poor, good AD service p*ss poor QC/build from Breitling.

I think a refund is in order now, very disappointed.
