Hi guys, I am new to the forum and I was wondering if some of you could offer me some advice?

I have a Breitling 765 watch (circa 1965) that is in near mint condition. I'm thinking about selling the watch as I rarely wear it and when I do, I'm petrified it might get damaged. Plus an injection of cash at the moment would be greatly welcomed.
I have had a look online and I'm finding it difficult to see what it might be worth in the real world as they appear to be rarer than hens teeth!
I am a lover of Breitling watches, but sadly I have no real knowledge or experience on them.
Can you point me in the right direction please?
I will try to upload some pictures of it when I can if that's helps. I'm currently working a night shift and don't have the watch with me.

Thanks in advance

Ash

Welcome. Pics would help a lot for us to render an opinion...

Ash, I, and I suspect others would still be interested to see your watch and discover what you decided to do after you digested the helpful advice you were no doubt provided through those PMs you received.

Hi guys. Sorry for my absence. My wife was rushed into hospital on Thursday night with Meningitis and she is still there. As you can probably appreciate I've been a little bit preoccupied with that.

I've managed to get a few pics of the watch but I'm struggling to post them up from my iPhone. Can anyone assist? I could email them to someone if they're able to put them up for me.

Cheers

Ash

Perfectly understandable. Family definitely comes before a bunch of strangers on the Internet. I hope your wife is doing OK.

Following the adage of "teach a man to fish", the easiest way is to use the Tapatalk app on your phone to access your Breitling Source account as it can directly access the phone's photo library.

it used to be .. now its a "restored , restored watch"

SL (super luminova) hands and dial , most likely restored by either Breitling or the Heists (costs $2000-2400 for a full service and restore incl hands and dial swap)

still a nice watch but the service dial and hands impact the value quite a bit

p.s. its still an easy 7 / 8K euro watch 'as is'

Yes the watch has been restored by Breitling in 2005. Before this the watch had no strap, one of the dials had broken and the glass was cracked. It had been sat in a drawer betore this for about 15 years, almost forgotten about.
I have the receipt to prove the restoration.

So it's still a sweet, sweet watch.

A sweet watch with half of the value erased. For a broken crystal and subdial hand. Sigh.
