Post subject:  ''swiss made'' lettering or not?

Hi
Nice forum for sure.
After a few years of putting together a nice roster of Omega's, I have recently grown quite fond of the Breitling brand and made a successful purchase a few months ago, and I am now about to make my second purchase - Avenger Skyland. I read a blurb about Breitling replicas ( particularly about the model in question ), RE: the ''swiss made'' lettering on the bottom of many Swiss timepieces. If was pointed out the an authentic Skyland does NOT have the lettering. I have been looking at dozens of pics from many websites and stores and it would seem authentic versions do not have the lettering.

any thoughts? does the model year make a difference?

It can be genuine, with or without lettering.
Lettering is on newer models.
It can also be a fake, with or without lettering.

The original Skyland only ever had white stencil numerals , black , blue and grey dial and sub dials. It did NOT have swiss made at the six o clock marker.
The rebranded Avenger, ( not the later avenger II )was never called the Skyland . It had chromed stencil numberals and did have swiss made on the dial. It was also available with batons.I think breitling continued to use the skyland owners manual for the early rebranded Avengers which has caused confusion. Fake give aways are raised lume dots, sunken date wheel. And bezel lume dot. Also bezel engraving of the 1 was not correct. Some fakes are very good.
