Hi guys,
Can you please let me know if this watch is real or fake? Also, do any of you have experience with this seller? Are they trustworthy or not? Many Thanks.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mens-Breitling- ... true&rt=nc

http://www.loucri.enstore.com/item/mens ... tion-watch

The seller has provided me the serial number & the model reference number which Breitling confirmed matched a watch they produced in 2005, however they still said that the only way to know for sure would be to physically inspect the watch. Can only do that once I buy it so really would appreciate your guidance.

I think it is okay, but very difficult to tell under all that bling. Should be okay so long as the serial number isn't 2073888

I would avoid that seller though as they have tried to sell at least one Breitling fake, a Navitimer 01, on Ebay ( viewtopic.php?f=9&t=55084 ) and did nothing about it when I warned them.

Hi... Yes, that's the serial number they have provided which Breitling verified. What's wrong with that serial number?

That's the serial number used on 'quality' fames. Just do a forum search and you will find it on multiple examples.

OMG! I almost called this one real. I had doubts about the date font, but the correct looking logo on sec hand swayed me.

This is the 2nd fake Breitling this dealer has tried to sell of late.

I'm more shocked that Breitling authenticated that serial number. That is the common serial number of virtually all high end fakes of the Chronomat Evolution.

I'm really shocked. I don't know much about watches but I had no idea that fakes were so good. Really concerned about buying anything from eBay now/online. Does anyone know of any trustworthy sources?

Also, when they say that the box & papers etc. will be provided... How is that possible if it is a fake?

Don't worry. Aside from fabricated vintage pieces from China and Argentina, 99% of Breitlings on Ebay are real. I make sure they are ;)

This one slipped past me because its highly customised and from a presumably reputable professional seller so I probably didn't pay the listing much attention.

The quality fake of the Chronomat Evo is one of the most accurate Breitling copies. But thankfully, they never get all the details correct so can be spotted. However blinged up pieces like this example with customised or aftermarket parts are difficult to verify.

Yes, If this comes with boxes and paperwork, it will probably be forgeries. We can spot those too!

Taimur, is that the exact serial number the seller gave you? I emailed seller on Ebay and he said the s/n was 207388, when I explained the common serial number he insisted his didn't have the last '8'. That is more suspicious as don't all models from this era have a 7-digit S/N? Either way, the date font is off enough for me.

Reported:
"Fake copy of a Breitling Chronomat Evolution model ref A13356:
- The date font is incorrect
- Seller has confirmed via Ebay messages that the watch has the common fake serial number used by the fakes of this model, 207388(8)

P.S. Seller has a history of attempting to sell fake Breitlings on Ebay. I warned seller item number 281414122829 was fake but seller did nothing until it was removed by Ebay"

Serials are random so 6 figure is possible, though obviously not in this case.

No, he confirmed the complete, fake serial number to me... Have it on email:

sales@loucri.com
Jan 30 (9 days ago)

to me
We love the blue dial-very sharp.
MODEL : A13356
SERIAL: 2073888

thanks

Sorry... Don't know how to upload emails in their original form. Also, I spoke to another dealer in the area who has put up the auctions for the other Breitlings I posted. He informed me that not only do they have a reputation for selling fakes, the diamonds used are also fake. If you look at the certificate provided, it's from a company GAI whereas the internationally accepted diamond appraiser is GIA. GAI apparently prints out certificates that their account holders require for a small fee, making it look official.

P.S. If you look at the picture on the eBay auction of the back of the watch in the zoom mode, you can make out the serial number with three '8's

Thanks, that confirms what I suspected, that he accidentally missed the last digit in the email to me. I too noted caseback pic seems to show a s/n ending 3888 but not clear enough to be sure.

I've always been cynical about appraisal certificates and don't think they're worth the paper they are written on. (Especially this one as it's dated in the future,
12th Jan 2015) And it obviously raises the question, who is going to put tens of thousands of dollars worth of real gem stones on a watch that is worthless fake junk?

Hoping to get this junk off of Ebay, then off Chrono24. Aside from the s/n, the date font is incorrect. :guns:
