For those who are not American college football fans, Kingsbury is sort of the 'hot fashion' coach. Handsome in the eyes of the women, played QB, young head coach, hangs out with some sports celebrities. He's an "image" guy, whether he wanted it or not, but he doesn't seem to shy away from it. So, in a once-a-year conference with only the most manic fans watching, the guy is pretty much asking for it wearing this. Predictably, the fan of another team jumped on it, fed Deadspin, which lives on stuff like this, and the Deadspin article won't be the end of it for him, by a long shot. Unfortunately, reading some of the comments will almost make you regret verifying that the watch is a fake. Almost, I said.

I like how Texas Tech even had to issue a statement on it.

"He got it as a gift 10 years ago when he was playing in NFL Europe and has worn it ever since," Texas Tech spokesman Blayne Beal told the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. "He couldn't care less if it's real or not. He just likes the watch."

I'm going to guess he'll never be photographed again wearing it.

Not sure why it is getting so much (relatively mainstream) media coverage. The watch is a bad fake, the guy is image over substance - where's the surprise, let alone news story!

What is funny about the Texas Tech press release is the Breitling for Bentley line has only been around for what, 10-11 years? So, I would highly doubt that his watch is 10 years old or that it would even work after 10 years.

can't imagine a fake working for ten years... And a present? Quite funny, I see a lot of people coming in my shop with a "question" about their watch. Looking at the watch a telling them gently it is a fake, all of a sudden, the watch is a present. Man, people buy people a lot of fake watches!
