WATCHFINDER: - HONEST, PROMPT SERVICE, GOODS AS DESCRIBED.

RECCOMMENDED

EDITED ON 4/11/08

Watchfinder delivered a genuine, certificated Breitling with all serials intact, as promised.

One issue cropped up, having noticed the warranty certificate was not completed with the dealer name, address and signature. After speaking again with Watchfinder concerning this, they were extremely apologetic, although they maintain this is common practice, and they do not see it as a problem affecting the validity of the Breitling warranty.

However, to ensure my peace of mind, they requested I return the certificate to them, and they will get it properly completed and returned within ten days.

Therefore I retract my previous, negative assessment of Watchfinder in this post, and on the basis of the follow-up customer service, I can recommend them as a honest, reliable supplier. And also my apologies to Watchfinder for my previous rant.

Just remember though, if you do order from them, and it is important to you, remind them that you want the warranty card fully filled out.

Result: I still have a perfect watch and I hope it stays working. If it doesn't I can't get Breitling to repair it.

If the serials are intact, you can, but you'll have to pay for the repair.

hey ike, I've seen your edit.

So what happened to that extra cash they were asking you to pay just to cover the official warranty?.

And what was their excuse to not shipping the watch with full Breitling warranty upfront as they promised?.

No, it was nothing like that. I received everything with papers, serials for the agreed price.

The Breitling warranty booklet hadn't been completed with the dealers details and sig. According to the small print in the booklet, this must be filled in and match the perforated dealer code to make the warranty valid. Maybe I'm just being anal, however Watchfinder subsequently apologized and will get the booklet stamped and signed for me. They didn't think it is vital for the Breitling warranty, hence just shipped me as is. They want to keep their customers happy, so not a bad bunch after all - hence the edit.

Will be awaiting the warranty booklet within 10 day turnaround.

cheers,

ike

I'm looking to order something from these guys in the near future. Did the warranty papers get sorted out as promised in the end ?

Sorry Dave, I missed your post. I didn't send the warranty book to them after all. I judged there is more risk I won't see the paperwork again than the watch needing attention within the guarantee period. They know what I think and if there was to be a service issue, they promise Breitling service (getting the dealers stamp in the warranty book if need be), not "anywatchrepairer.com".

You'll have to decide whether to trust them. I will go as far as to say they sounded genuinely concerned and willing over the issue), I chose not to take up their offer. I have just ordered an Oris from them though - they promise a fully completed Oris warranty (although Oris don't seem to quote such onerous conditions as does a Breitling warranty). So, I'll know tomorrow.
