I've always wanted an IWC... they are a real man's watch, not that Breitling isn't, but they only make men's watches which is kinda cool, and they are also a Manufacture... though their cheaper models like the Ingenieur aren't manufacture movements.

I like the Portugese and the Ingenieur and the Aquatimer.. all use the Valjoux based movement.. what do you think?

Edit: Just realized, there is a whole new line of BIGGER Ingenieurs out! 45.5mm !!! geebus crites i might really have to get one.

This is the one i like best:

I walk past an IWC AD on a regular basis and they have grown on me as I see them in the window. I prefer the look of the Spitfire although the Portuguese is a nice series too.

Not sure why but I can't get into the Ingenieur - I think it's the bracelet which looks cheap to me (spoiled by Breitling I guess). In that series I would opt for the AMG on strap over the Chronograph that you prefer.

The older IWCs are a class act IMO. As dress watches I think they're nicer than Pateks, and almst as nice as Lange :)

In the more sporting arena I think the Aquatimer stands out well.....

I'd buy one if I had the money.

I have two, the DaVinci Chronograph and the Fliegerchronograph. Both are (unfortunately) mecaquartz movements (i.e. quartz with a automatic mechanical chronograph). I'd prefer automatic movements, but when these two came my way at different occasions I just had to get them. I'll try to take some pics and post them during the weekend.

The mecaquartz, however, is not an IWC movement, but developed by Jaeger LeCoultre.

I saw the movie Lucky # Slevin and I fell in love with the IWC Aquitimer, but I went to my AD to check it out and it seemed to pricey overall for how much watch your getting for the price.

Have you seen the Cousteau Divers IWC, looks great on a bracelet, often sold on blue rubber strap though, hich in my opinion, only goes at certain times. Retail about $7K I think.
Very similar to the Aquatimer mentioned andpictured above, but larger at 44MM and with chronos.

Pricey too, but all IWC are.

The Ingy dial detail looks amazing, for some reason the holes around the outer bezel look strange to me?
Big Pilot and Portugeuse are classy, big and beutiful watches.
Saw an a few year old GST Chrono, that was really nice too, little smaller at about 41MM.
IMC may have the nicest watches that theaverage person knows nothing about.

Cheers,
BentleyGT

Yeah.. I've seen the Cousteau, with the wood thingy in the back. At the price i'll take an Ingenieur though. I love the look of the Ingenieur... really badly. I think I will have to buy one very shortly here

I said earlier I'd post some pics of my DaVinci SL and my Fliegerchronograph. Sorry about the delay, the camera has been on repair, but here they are at last.
