Ending 2016 with my 3,000th post. I joined this forum back on 2007 when I was looking for my first Breitling, the Colt GMT. I told myself and my wife this would be my only watch purchase for the rest of my life. I was 26 at that time and figured it would be on my wrist everyday. The purchase was finally made in February 2008. After that, I was hooked. I immediately began saving for my next watch. A year later, I got my Chronomat Evolution. The Evolution only lasted 2 months before flipping it for a Panerai 112.

The 112 was with me for a year before selling it for a Milgauss. At this point, I was basically planning out my next 4 or 5 purchases. I started looking at brands I didn't ever think of when I started on my watch journey. After the Milgauss, here are a few of my other purchases:

IWC Aquatimer 2000
Cartier Calibre
Rolex SubC
Rolex Datejust 2
IWC 7 day Portuguese
Chronomat Airborne

Only 4 watches remain and I can honestly say I'm very content with what's in my watch box and winder. While I have a couple on my radar for next year, I'm in no hurry to add anything.

I've also been fortunate to meet some wonderful people on this thread who have helped me out with some of my questions and purchases. I've also built a great relationship with my AD and consider the folks there very good friends of mine. This is still by far my favorite watch forum to participate on and hopefully that extends into 2017 and another 3,000 posts.

Happy new year to everyone!

Happy New Year, Justin!

You sure steered me in the right direction AD-wise, for which I'm very grateful!

The Govberg Chronomat was given to my brother as a gift. I forgot about that I even owned it since it was only for a short time.

Nice post Justin, and glad you're still such an active member here. We've had a lot of good guys on here over the years - Sharkman, Sharkmouth, Bonedoc, Aleister, Altair, RJRJRJ, to name just a few - but as is often the case, people come and go.....so it's great to have a few regular "old hands" still here!

It's hard to believe it's been almost 7 years since I joined. There definitely were a lot more members back then but I still enjoy this forum.

Congrats, Justin! I lol'd at the "I told myself and my wife this would be my only watch purchase for the rest of my life" bit. That was my story as well!

I think I've told her that every time I find a new one. She did surprise me with an Orbita winder for our anniversary this year, although she had some help picking out the right one from our friend George at Govberg.
