Does anyone have any more information on this old family heirloom please? It's been around for years but nothing is know about it. Attachment: Goliath PW.jpg There are no makers marks I can see, just a serial number 66106, which is stamped on the back covers and movement. It is 2-1/2" diameter (approx 65mm) and the chain is silver hallmarked. It's a heck of a weight, so you'd really know you were wearing this. I gave it a couple of winds and it's ticking away merrily at the moment, so it's robust. I did find reference to a similar but much fancier watch reputedly owned by Herman Goering. I'm wondering was this aimed at pilots or railway workers? Thanks for your interest. |
