Hey guys,

Does this panerai look right to you?

http://www.ebay.ca/ulk/itm/161912382982

One major thing caught my eye and makes me believe this is fake.

The crown guard release lever from what I know is positioned on the top, and is pulled down to release, this watch has it on the bottom, pulling up???

Additionally, case back and movement seems off, perhaps it's the photos, but if it's fake, can't imagine all these bids now at $6k

Do let me know

If I came across that, and compared it too the same model on the panerai site, personally I would move on.

They must have seriously redesigned the back.

Not saying it's fake, just what I would do if I was shopping for one (my boss has one at work)

It does not match same model on website. But don't know if earlier models were different.

But the crown guard.... Really off

Like I say, can not say if it's fake or not,

All I can say is what I would do, and in this situation ,

without finding a reference that is trust worthy that I could compare I personally would not buy it

Hope that helps

Found a better shot of the p.9002 movement, if it is a replica it's stunning

The crown guard has simply been reversed, as can been seen on the underside shot REG TM.

The biggest tell on the replica P9002 movement is the depth of the balance wheel and escapement due to the overlaid decorated bridges. It just so happens that they are obscured by the rotor.

Looks Legit to me, though that reversed crown guard is a bit strange.
