Do it, you can always get another Chronomat down the road. Something about the DSSD, such a massive diver.
Breitling has tough watches too but the Rolex name is no slouch in quality either. I love mine. Image

Personally I wouldn't do it. I owned a Deepsea for a while myself, and while it's a fantastically well-made and finished watch, I personally found it just a little "ordinary" to own long term. It just didn't excite me after a while.

I think the Chronomat 44 with the B01 is a more interesting choice.

Split the difference and get a Breitling deepsea and keep it Image

Agree totally with the below. I've owned both. The Chronomat is the better choice. I miss mine...And the thickness of that Deepsea got old really quickly. Good luck

I currently own both. The Deepsea is an amazing masterpiece and hell of a watch. I do warn you that it is heavy! Yes, you can slap a rubber b strap on it to reduce weight and give it a whole new look, but now the height is the only concern with certain attire. My Chronomat on the other hand is one versatile watch from land, to air, to sea. If I had to choose one to weapon the weekender DSSD would beat. If I hadto choose one tower everyday, it would be y Chronomat on a strap, no bracelet.

In a perfect world, I would own both in a heartbeat. But for me, the Rolex is just a better fit and finish for me. I constantly ogle at the Breitling website imagining what pieces I would have it money weren't an object!

Although it is different from the Deep Sea, I can say that I absolutely love my sub c. The ceramic bezel is amazing at resisting scratches etc. The DSSD is beast, try to make sure it is comfortable. If so, I say go for it and never look back....

Well I have gone and done it my chronomat 44 has gone in px against Rolex deepsea. I wanted a deepsea since its release and think it will be a timeless watch. I do love the chronomat 44 but I'll pick one up in 5 years when the price drops. Just need to get me super avenger back to breitling for complete overhaul and I have me overstated watch and my understated watch.

Congrats!! You will not be disappointed, it really is a beautiful chunk of steel. You can always add another Chronomat down the road eventually, there is room for both in ANY collection.

for all you dssd owners out there, what made you choose that over the breitling seawolf (any generation) as they are both thick, go down to ridiculous depths of the ocean, etc....
