Hello all.

My 1st Panaerai didnt work out so well. A 422 that didnt keep time. I returned it, but still have the "fever".

Looking to pick up a bit smaller of a watch, but they dont make a "422 ish" watch in 44mm.... so the choices are:

510
- love the 8 day handwind
- love the all polished case
- Like the screws better than quick pins

312
- love the 1950 case and crownguard
- love the silver hands

What choice would you make?

Thanks,

Joe

Personally I'd plump for the 312. I don't like polished myself; like the case shape of the 312; like you I really like the hands - gives it better readability; and the date function is a bonus.

Justin,
The 590 is not bad, just dont care for the added test at 3'oclock.

I can get my 422 back, just dont know if its the right thing...

Justin, can George get Panerai?

Yes, Govberg is now a Panerai authorized dealer so he should be able to get anything.

312 for me all the way. I only really like the 1950 case, so that that cancels out the 510 immediately. Plus I only really like the 233 (oh and the 275) on the handwound front. The 312 is just a modern classic IMO, and not too expensive (by Panerai standards anyway!)
