I'm just wondering, do people generally wear watches if they're also wearing french cuffs and cuff links? None of my watches feel or look right when I wear them with french cuffs.

I always wear French cuffs with a suit, and always wear a watch, but generally a more dressy one. I actually have my shirts cut slightly larger on the left wrist to accommodate a watch.

I do, but I actually wear a slim Raymond Weil Parsifal with that setup. It seems to fit the best to me with that combo.

Why not???

All of these slide easily under the cuff when needed.

I buy off the rack and only occasionally wear French cuffs, but when I do it's simply a thinner watch. No way will my Headwind or Aquatimer work with my 7 3/4 inch wrist or the thickness of the watch, but a thinner dress watch works. I wear either my vintage Accutron or my cheapie Jacques LeMans square watch on mesh. Unless you have really small cuffs or a really big wrist, I would think your Datejust would work. My old Datejust would fit under any sleeve.

The datejust would certainly work better than the navitimer world, but it gets stuck againstthe edge of the cuff; I have to lift the cuff and drag it over the watch to get the watch under the cuff. I'm surprised that Wessa can get his Navi (admittedly, I know it's smaller than my world) under his cuff.

The biggest concern I have when wearing cufflinks is not scratching the bracelet (or case) on the metal connecting part of the cufflink! (Yes, yes, OCD, I know! )

I only wear french cuffs as well with my suits, but I opt for the Super Avenger as my daily wearer. I buy shirts off the rack however and haven't run into any issues surprisingly enough with the thickness of the SA. :D

perhaps we should have a "guess who's wrist" comp?... definitely a few out there I'd recognise!

I wear regular cuffs more often than French. But when I wear French, I still wear my Breitlings just like any other day. Typically, though, when I dress up for style, I wear my Chronomat and not my Airwolf. Sometimes wear my family Omega heirloom, which is slimmer. But I don't mind the big chunky Chronomat, regardless of the cuff.

Since I last wrote in this thread, I sold the Navi World to fund a Navi 01. I am very happy to report that the 01 slips right under the french cuff!
