How about we start a thread where forum members that have personal experience with eBay sellers and can vouch for the authenticity of their watches. Whew thats a mouth-full.

Something like :

sellers name : jmryshi
link to watches for sell: http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZjmryshi

*I am not verifying jmryshi personally, someone else here did that a while back.

...just an idea

Scott

It's a good idea, but....

I don't really want to promote ebay sellers... there are too many and too much room for abuse (Shills) I think... I don't want every joe chiming in "oh this guy is great" and meanwhile it's his cousin. There are some great sellers like jmryshi that do tons of volume that are trustworthy, perhaps I will add them to the trusted list eventually... but overall I'd rather stay away from ebay sellers, it leaves room for abuse.

I agree with Admin. Also, the fact that a guy has sold a few real objects isn't a guarantee that the next piece will be ok, just makes it more or less plausible. I see it quite often on ebay and similar that someone has sold 10-20 (very cheap) objects in order to get a good track record, and then tries to sell an expensive fake. And finally, if we had such comments, shouldn't they be under the feedback section?

If you want to buy a watch on ebay, try to find a seller that is in the vicinity of your area, if you win the auction. Request a face to face meeting at an AD to verify the authenticity of the timepiece.
