OK, I'm stretching the definition of 'watch' with this question, but this seemed a better forum than the Off Topic one. A jeweler near me is closing down and is offering some deals on his Howard Miller Grandfather clocks - $5,000 reduced to $3,000. My wife has always wanted a Grandfather clock, but I know absolutely nothing about them - does anyone have any experience?

The store told me that it would be regulated and set up and wouldn't need servicing - "just fix it if it breaks", but I am a little wary with the store going out of business.
