Well I am planning a trip through Europe and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on where to go to see some historic points of horlogerie. I am going through Switzerland, Paris, London, Italy, and Germany.

Not sure of the others, but a good choice in London would be Greenwich. Check out the National Maritime Museum. Admission is free http://www.nmm.ac.uk/index.php
John Harrison's chronometers are there... http://www.nmm.ac.uk/server/show/nav.3029
and of course the Meridian line http://www.nmm.ac.uk/server/show/nav.2904

I can only agree with Admin. It would be really sweet to go to Breitling HQ (Grenchen, Switzerland - isn't it?) and see if they have a factory tour. I'd sign up for it right away!

Hello Flyboy,

there is a watchmaking museum in La Chaux-deFonds in Switzerland, another one in Glashütte and Furtwangen in Germany.
And You forgot Vienna on Your list of places to visit....

I think I am going to Vienna also. Thanks for the heads up guys. I emailed Bling Canada to see if there was any chance of a tour but last I heard the buildings are completely restricted to personnel only.

I suspect they are quite restricted areas. But even so, it would be cool to just hang out and take some pics in their parking lot...

Paris - Musse du Lourve.

Mona Lisa, Picasso, Monet. Gotta see it.

London- The Crown Jewels, the London Dungeons, Changing of the Guard, The CONCORDE, and lots of PUBS!

I've got a picture of me crossing the crosswalk on Abbey Road (Like on the Beatles Album Cover), it's kind of funny.

I can't help you on Italy or Germany. I've not been there yet!

The Louvre takes at least a couple days to see if you plan to actually go through the entire thing... minimum you'll want to spend a whole day there.. it is HUGE.
