Finally received my Panerai 251 - and yes, it's on a STRAP!

Image

This is the black faced (250) version which I also own - on a strap too!

Gotta stop buying these things...I'll be in London on the 7th December and I'm hoping to be able to pick up a GMT Master llc....the deal I had before fell through - anyone know if they're still rare in the UK?

Nice!!! Love that particular design, mainly because it does not have those awfull Panerai 6 and 9 numerals.

Now that you have that beutifull white one maybe you would care to trade the black one for a Datora plus cash? :D Sorry had to try!

Strange though it may seem, I kinda like both...horses for courses and all that - I can chose what colour goes best with what I'm doing/wearing...

This is another one of my Panerai chronos...

Image

...very rare (500) and worn sparingly

(Modelled by my pet monkey...)

Sportback,

Two things - yes GMT Master IIc's are still fairly rare in the UK. My AD quoted a 3 month waiting list, but you never know you might get lucky.

And secondly stop posting pics of that gorgeous 1950 Flyback Regatta!!!!! It's one of my top 5 must-own watches, and I need to ween myself off it as they are far too hard to find, and too expensive when I do!

It's funny isn't it - I started buying watches, sorry 'collecting' watches, with the express intent of wearing them...(I even got used to strapping a housebrick to my right wrist to counterbalance the weight of the 6.75)... but ever since I managed to get the 1950 Flyback I've probably worn it only 2 or 3 times - I love it to death and just can't bear the thought of damaging it!

This is odd, as it now extends to the Skyland Blacksteel. Now this watch is probably the first which really disappointed me - the watch is fine, it's a chrono, a Breitling and all that, but it's just a bit too ordinary. I was looking for a black watch (To quote Montey Python "...even the white bits were black") and this seemed to be what I wanted - until I got it. I've worn it once.

The nice thing about the Panerai is the fact that they're all so unique, in the sense that they're all produced in such small numbers - the Flyback, as I'm sure you know, is a limited edition of 500, which when you think of the Blacksteel with 2000 makes the production run miniscule.

Sorry - not really the place for discussing Panerai, I know

Be careful - the 250 is the black face chrono in the first post - the display back is on the 253 Flyback Regatta - don't want you to get confused.

Of course, if you're based in Europe, I know where there is a brand new 250 sitting in a shop window...less interesting if you're in the US of course (due to the difference in price)

Nope I am in the MidEast, the prices over here are generaly better than the US or Europe (except Rolex)

I understand that the 250 has a solid caseback, I was refering to your first post. That watch on white stiched black leather is amazing.

Too bad you couldn't wear it with just the case back showing.

I'll admit the black chrono looks stunning, how big is the case?

But, for the rest of them, blahhhhh. For a $5K+ watch you would think they would get some R&D on a knockout bracelet for the watch.

It's 44MM, not counting that considerable crown!!!!

The larger Panerai do feel good on the wrist. I really like the 250 and the 104, the Flyback Regatta is also cool but have not seen it in person.
