Take a look at the pics in that thread, that is one good fake. The glass and material seem very good for the value.

Raises a good question, if hypotheticly, a chinese copy of say a Bentely 6.75 was exactely the same, I mean a perfect copy, for 200 USD would you still buy the real thing at 6000 USD?

You mean perfect copy right down to the fact that it is COSC certified and then perfectly decorated with the same upgrades to the movement that Breitling Chronometrie makes?

Well said Admin, well said.
It's an age old argument, but at the end of it all, if it ain't made by the company then it's a fake. And a fake is a fake is a fake. Nuff said!

Id give 60-200 for it any day. That thing looks great. Yeah I would have that "I know its a fake" mindset, but its just a Panerai and know I have the real deal B!!!!

Well no

I mean exact copy down to the end product. The reason the real deal is so much more expensive is that the metals are perfected, the QC is better, the designer is actually paid, matketing, shareholders etc etc

I never owned a fake watch before but I would be lying if I said I never looked into it, the savings from 6000 to 200 USD are significant, in the end I found myself just not being able to live with a fake, I would feel cheap. But that is a personal preference, also ethicaly speaking the brand and design are trademarks so it would be akin to stealing really. I would never ever buy a Folex, Fomega or a Freitling (?! ) because i Am passionate about those brands and really want the real deal. But I can certinely see someone getting a real good watch for 60USD.

I don't think I could ever purchase a fake. There are some really good fakes out there, but you get what you pay for in my opinion.

Personally can't see the point of wearing a fake - I'm not out to impress anyone, but I would know it wasn't real, and to me, that's the most important factor.

If you buy a fake because you simply need a watch and you like the design, fair enough - but I'd hazard a guess that 99% of people who buy fakes do so because they can't afford the real thing. So why buy one? To impress other people - simple, in my view.

I couldn't give a monkeys what other people think about what I wear/drive - if it pleases me, then it's ok in my book.
