This is SUCH a great watch!!! It wear much larger than the older GMT Matster II and even looks much better with the bling-tastic Ceramic bezel. The only thing I do not like is the green GMT hand, much prefer the old red hand. I had always felt that Breitlings were always better than Rolex/Omega in terms of bracelet design and build but the new Daytona stule bracelet is a triumpth!!! Feels GREAT and looks very nice!

LOVE THIS WATCH!!!

Here is an excelent comparision and review.

I totally agree with you on how nice the new GMT Master II is, although I also like the green GMT hand. The bracelet and clasp are fantastic and they really bring Rolex up to date. (Hence the departure of my "old-hat" Submariner! )

Very VERY tempted by a GMT Master II myself, but I'm even more tempted to see what the new Submariner is going to look like.....

Get the GMT Master IIc, you will not be sorry! buyers remorse = - 10

If you can get it for 10-15 % off (should be easy) then you will not regret it, resale value is great but that will not matter as you will not sell this watch.

Then get the new Submariner to round out your collection.

That said you should not listen to me, when it comes to watches I have the financial sense of a ten year old in a candy shop.

So there IS going to be a new model of the Submariner or is this just a RUMOR?

Brian, yes it is definate the Submariner will get an update soon. At least I hope it's an update and not a complete rehaule! Rolex did a great job with the GMT Master, a terrible one with the YachtMaster.

Admin, trust me you need this watch. I guarantee it will not feel too small!! Wears much larger than its size.

According to the guy I sold my Rolex to (who has been an independant Rolex dealer for 10 15 years), an updated/new Submariner will definitely be out sometime next year. My AD also suggested that was likely to be the case, although they are likely to be a bit more cagey about telling you as they will obviously not want to dissuade anyone from buying one of the current ones now!

Agreed on the GMT Master, but I actually really like the Yacht Master II as well. Yes it is a bit of a radical departure for Rolex, but I sometimes think they need a bit of a shake up. The Yacht Master II is probably the first major change in watch design that Rolex have made in the last 50 years or so. Shame you can't buy it in steel as the gold versions (at a min of £16k) are way too much for my budget!
