I agree - but ironically the first Panerai shown here is based on the design of the 1950's model, as it happens!

Don't get me wrong, the Breitlings I have purchased are fine, but they are pretty much like everything else out there in terms of looks - these Panerai are just a little bit different, just (IMHO) a little bit classier.

I used to think PAMs were too plain, too simple, too big only fit for a grandmother. Pictures alone didn't convince me although I noticed the trend: If you get it, you will like it. Sure enough, when I got the PAM 111H, I was in love. It's an acquired taste and it will grow on you. It smiles back at you in a different way. Just like vintage wine, it's a classy watch. Now my wife took it away from me and it's hers. :(
