I’ve been looking at picking up another watch and I’m having trouble narrowing it down. Either a sub two tone with black dial and ceramic bezel or an iwc portofino 8 day in rose gold. Both are preowned. They’re asking 10k for the sub and 9500 for the iwc. The Rolex has box but no papers and the iwc doesn’t have either. I trust the dealer so authenticity isn’t a factor. Looking for feedback, thanks in advance!

They are so vastly different that I'm not sure how anyone could give you an opinion on which one to buy other than the one they like better. Therefore, you might as well choose the one you like better. In that vain, I like the IWC better because I am not a fan of two-tone watches no matter how many watch blogs tell me they are hot right now. If it was a straight stainless Submariner, then my choice might be different. That said, it might also depend on what other watch you have.

With that much money for a used watch, I would look at the gray market offerings except the Rolex's are not discounted at all. But in that price range you have a lot of nice choices if you go gray. Just my opinion :)

But you could get the SS Submariner as new within that budget which would be my choice.
