A new addition to replace something vintage.

Thank you.
Wanted to show this but hadn't had the two watches at the time. Here it is next to its grandfather.

A short review (hope it’s okay to added to my original post).

I was ask to give my opinion on my experience since having the UnitimeST with white dial since most of the reviews out there mainly feature the black dial version. In short, I love it. Breitling made a good decision on making this version of the Unitime part of the Galactic collection. I also like the turn down lugs and rounded case creates a vintage feel but in line with modern Breitlings (a little bias since I love my Unitime 1-260). So, if you have tried on, or have a, Galactic 44, you will understand that the watch setts high. What I do like is how the Tungsten carbide bezel plays off the steel case. Dropping the markers and rider tabs from the bezel now follows the curve of the glass, which is so legible from the most extreme position. What I would have like to have seen is that the case being a little smaller and thinner to give more emphasis to the world-timer dial and complication.

So, here’s how I made my decision and a few of my feelings after getting the white dial instead of black.
Since its release I have only seen it a few times in my travels at different AD’s across the world. The black dial does makes the watch appear smaller but that can be said with other black dial watches. What I do like is the white dial helps distract from the thickness and bezel size. I find reading the cities and daylight saving time markers a bit more legible. The world map is also not as distracting when reading the time or times. I find reading it in low light a bit more easier as well. The lume is great but it’s no dive watch lume but is something I don’t think would be a good idea for this type of watch. Syncing the time is something to get use to and setting the hour hand independently is a great joy when traveling. COSC accuracy is what this watch promotes and it delivers! I have been traveling lately and I have not lost any notable time. this also includes me adjusting the hour hand to switch my reference time. Many of the function in the UnitimeST is because of the Breitling’s in-house cal B35 with a 70 hrs power reserve, world-time setting, date and time. I originally purchased the UnitimeST with the pilot bracelet. I noticed the bracelet adds more weight and makes the watch feel much heavier (but it looks really sharp), but since then I have switched out the steel for leather. Now it’s lighter on the wrist. So as a daily wear it becomes unnoticeable.

These are mostly my experiences and opinions and you should always get the version that you like best. It will be your watch. I’m not a rubber strap guy but my suggestion is to buy on steel bracelet and get the other strap option later. Most important, it comes down to your taste, budget and need.
