Enjoy, sorry they aren't the best pics! This is my first Ling and I couldn't be happier with it. It has me craving the "Full Ling" but it is still a monster...you can certainly feel that you are wearing it at all times which I really like. Any other Steelfish owners out there?

Congrats on the Steelfish! I've got the exact same one, so I definitely agree that the black dial is the best colour combination. Even though it's one of the (relatively speaking) cheaper Breitlings it's one of my favourites - big but not too big, very sturdily constructed and has a real presence on the wrist. I also love the whole engineering feat of it being water resistant to 2000m (even though the closest mine will ever get to that is washing my hands! )

It's just a great watch. Hope you enjoy it!

Believe it or not I actually used to own the first generation Steelfish (the 1500m water resistant one) with the light dial. (Breitling describe it as silver, but it's more of an ivory sort of colour). It was a nice enough watch but I found the hour markers and hands just didn't stand out particularly well on the light dial, so when I bought my 2nd gen Steelfish I went for the more classic diver's watch style of a black dial. Obviously it's a totally personal choice, but for me the black (or the blue) is more in keeping with the concept of a diver's watch.

But either way, you can't really go wrong with a Steelfish. It's just a great watch!

Thanks for the awesome photos. I am still in a quandry about whether to get the Colt GMT or the Steelfish. Seeing your phots did make me decide to definitely get a black dial. I love the effect of the silver numerals on the dial, and the Colt GMT has that same effect. Also the machining on the dial looks great. I did see both at my AD the other day. I don't know what it is about the Colt GMT, but I keep gravitating towards it. Well, in the new year I shall try both on again and finally make up my mind. It's not like I can affort a watch like this often, so this one will likely be around for at least 10 years just like my SuperOcean.
Cheers,
Carl

Your photos really capture the Steelfish and the dial detail better than any I have seen. I just got mine last week, also with the black dial. I am in absolute awe of this watch every time I look at it. I looked at so many watches over the months, many models and also some other than Breitlings. I have personally never seen any diving watch that even comes close to this, or any other type of watch for that matter. The date aperture even has the silver surround detail on it, same as the numbers and luminous circles. I also like the old reliable caliber 17. With the case now at 44mm and the interlock at 22mm which allows for a wider bracelet, also the PRO II, the look is amazingly "beefy". The details of the brushed and polished stainless suit the watch perfectly. People must think I'm nuts: on the way to work this morning, the guy across the aisle on the bus caught me staring at my watch for an extended time! This is a thing I do often, and I guess there is no cure!
Cheers,
Carl
