And much more fun too

Actually, I've always wondered why they call it 'Alcoholics Anonymous'. I mean, the first thing you say is "Hi, I'm Peter and I'm..............." Not very anonymous

No, not anonymos at all!

Maybe notorious?

Hello Peter,

The pocket watch you have from the 50's looks very much like the sort used on Lancaster Bombers. Usually found on the left in the front instrument panel as shown in the pic.

Here's a similar version with a black dial.

Welcome to the forum. I too am a watchoholic - I think we all are here. Look forward to seeing pics of your collection!

Cheers,
Terry

I really like the watch you posted with the British War Office arrow - black dial and lume hands, pictured with the Land Rover logo. The watch looks fairly new; are they still available?

By 2008 City of Culture, I'm guessing you're from Liverpool? If so, Liverpool or Everton supporter?

Hi Terry

The watch with the Landrover logo in the background is a current Ollec & Wajs AS2603. I really like it and can't wait to get it back from my watchmaker.

For my sins, I support............

Leeds United

I'm actually from Yorkshire, just over here educating the Red Rose lads and taking their women

Pity they've got better fotball teams though.

But we'll be back.

Thanks for the info on the watch, Peter. I checked out a couple of sites selling them - great price! Ah, Leeds United, I remember back in the 70's when they were a division one side! I believe we managed to nick Harry Kewell off you - now if only we can get him fit enough to play again...
