Having come here for a 2002 Mk1 I have now spent considerably more on a 810 1.1 from cal_11

It arrived today safe and sound and, I think, looks and feels rather good.

I've currently got it on a grey suede strap. (It looks a bit brown in the image.)

Opinions anyone?

Hi everyone,

This thread has intrigued me and I've got a question that I've been meaning to ask for a while.

Did the Top Time 2002-33 ever get produced with Chrome plating?
I purchased one a little while ago from a Swiss dealer which was sold as SS but on arrival it was clear that it was chrome plated. The other clue was the case back had "Stainless Steel Back" which I've since learnt indicates the case is not SS! The dealer insisted that their watchmaker had tested the material inside the case and was pleased to report that it was SS. So a chrome plated SS case!?

Unlike the TT cushion cases which seem to have many chrome versions, I'm yet to see another 2002-33 like this?

Thanks,
E.P

I dont recall ever having seen a chrome plated 2002-33 , if its plated its gold plated and the caseback "Stainless Steel Back" is an indication of such

if the caseback is correct to the watch , and if its indeed chrome plated if most likely was changed from gold plated to chrome plated
are the hands and dial indices gold by any chance ?

Thanks Dracha,

The hands and dial are consistent with the panda 2002-33 pictured above by watchfred. Although mine is not a panda and the sub-dials are the same silver colour, but nothing to suggest it was for a gold watch.

Did Breilting or case manufacturers stamp the chrome plating like they did with gold plating normally between the lugs?

Ok i must have suffered from some form of confirmation bias as I looked at the snap on case back again today and it doesn't say stainless steel back.....just stainless steel!

So that would tie up with what you're both saying. Seems someone may have fiddled with the case!
