Hi guys.

Just new here and been looking at :lingsrock: for a while now. Quite fancy the super ocean 2 chrono with steel bracelet.

I'm going on a cruise in June on the celebrity silhouette, and as luck would have it, it turns out there is a breitling dealer on board (not that I persuaded the mrs on this cruise for that reason) 8)

The beauty of this is its in the $ and tax free- being Scottish this is a huge draw

Have any of you experienced the store??

Thanks in advance
Grant

Can't advise as its against the rules, or as you don't know anything about them?

Don't have any experience. Nothing to prevent people from offering opinions if they have experience.

Perhaps BUK or the website would let you know the dealership? Then you might be able to make contact and let them know which models you're interested in.

I worked on cruise ships for 11 years including Celebrity any Questions you have I can answer for you, Most of the shops are concessions and will stock Breitling along with other brands the sales people are good but they are not an Ad so get all the info you need before you go on the ship and the advantage is you will have wifi on board so you can google prices. They will have a small range on board of the most popular models but may not have a large selection of colours/straps just the most common ones. And the best advice I can give you is don't get them to alter the strap get that done at a AD with a inhouse watch maker.

taken from the website
On board Celebrity Silhouette® and Celebrity Reflection® you will find our most exclusive cruise shops including the Bvlgari, Breitling, Omega and Michael Kors boutiques.

That's great thanks, my mother in law was on the ship last year and she seemed to think that the shop only sold breitling(not being into watches she didn't take much notice)

The one I want is the superocean 2, chrono with steel strap black face white dials, seems to be the one at the front of most AD windows.

Is there a way I could contact them before I travel? Just so I can see if they could get one for me? I'm sure they would if it was a guaranteed sale? From my calculations the American price for the watch is just over $5k so with the tax off (20% I think) and with the exchange rate I'm thinking it'll be about £2500? I may be wrong but planning to buy as I have been looking for a while.

US prices are always quoted before tax, unlike Europe, so there won't be a further tax reduction.

Well sonyman already said that they won't be an AD, so they can't offer a Breitling warranty.

We just cruised on the Celebrity Reflection in late February. They had their grand opening of their Breitling and Omega "boutiques" on the ship that week. While I do not believe these stores were true OEM boutiques, I do believe they were AD and you would get a full and proper warranty card. We bought a TAG for my wife on the ship from a different store and it did include the full warranty.

Contact BUK and ask them if they are a proper AD and where do you stand with warranty
