Hi guys, it's nice to meet you all!!

I am new to Breitling and also to this website. Im in Texas currently.

Im gonna buy a Breitling. I really don't know either Chrono Avenger or Chronomat Evolution (titanium vs polished stainless steel) which will be a better choice. Both watches are nice, but I m afraid of the Chronomat evolution is too shiny for me. By the way is Chrono Avenger really a tough watch as it's described on the official Breitling's website.(coz it doesn't have locks for the two push pieces.

If anyone could help me with this, I would really appreciate it!!

Hi, My own personal experience of Breitlings in general is that they are all exceptionally well built and provided you are using a particular watch for what it is designed for (i.e. not going scuba driving in a Navitimer for example!), they are all more than adequate in terms of toughness. I also own a Rolex and I've owned both Tags and Omegas in the past and Breitling is the winner hands down for me.

As far as titanium vs stainless steel goes, then unless you have a technical reason for preferring titanium, it's really just down to personal choice. I owned an Avenger M1 for all of.... oh.. about 3 days a few years ago, and took it back as I just didn't get on with the feel of the titanium. It just felt cheap to me. (I know it's not cheap, but IMO you just can't beat a lump of stainless steel on your arm!). I took the M1 back and got a Superocean instead and never looked back. I have also heard, (and this is just heresay from mates), that titanium is slightly more prone to scratching, but I have not owned a titanium watch for long enough to be able to confirm is.

One final point is that on the bigger watches, some people may find the weight an issue, in which case titanium may be the way to go. For example a Steelfish is around 130g and a Super A in stainless steel is close on 160g which you WILL notice on your wrists.....!

I like the Titanium sometimes for certain activities such as golfing or playing sports where extra weight on the wrist isn't a good thing, but Titainium DOES scratch more easily than stainless from my experience... but I agree with Driver8... can't beat a lump of stainless steel on ur wrist! I have both those watches and I prefer the Chronomat Evo... but there are guys here that are the opposite.
