Hi,

Can I get your opinions on this top time?

Does the lume look original or re-done?

Thanks all

Best test is to see how much it glows, but given the condition of the case is pristine I'm not surprised to see pristine lume too. pips are all very even so I suspect it's all good. I'm not that familiar with this ref (2007?) though - just check that this dial is the right one for the case - short index markers vs stubby index markers.

David is raising a valid point, actually the 2007-33 should theoretically have Mk2 "fat index" dials and wide hands, Mk1 should have Venus 188 or Valjoux; but we see a lot of transitions with these, see no red flags re a relume, overall pristine condition.

Any thoughts on the variation of the lume plot position vs the hour markers? The 12 o clock double lume plots seem to be asymetrical placed? Is that correct for this ref?

I thought the same about the lume being slightly off centre as well as the distance of the lume dots from the hour indices, seems a bit further than others. Here's another dial I have which I was comparing it to. Thanks for all your thoughts so far!

I went to have a look at the Top Time. Its movement turned out to be a Valjoux 7730. I was expecting to see a 7733?
Is this another transitional variation that we see or rather is this suggesting that the case back is perhaps a replacement? The later would tie in with the dial being from the earlier Mk1 version.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

I have seen some more Top time dilas where the lume is not perfectly alligned with the hour markers. Could be a quality control issue or a bad batch that slipped through, or something completely different? I am not sure about the movement being correct or case back switch.

Just for the record I came across another with uneven lume pips at 12 o’clock, so indeed probably is factory original like that.
