Does this look correct? How do you put a value on these? This is the first iv seen, I also see a 801, i wonder what is more rare? These styles are beautiful

Watch is correct (except subdial hands) and incredibly rare, but the dial condition is poor. Really a pity.

Would like to see better pics but that would only confirm the poor condition I am afraid. Very rare watch but condition is everything and finding a good dial could be your life’s work....

It is a shame that the dial is shot, very cool to see this watch surface. To my understanding isn't there a moon phase version 801? That I would assume is just as rare if not rarer? I wonder how many 786 and 801s were made? And how many survived today

the best answer (based on info available now...) is: few and fewer...

801's and 786's are IMO equally rare , the 801 maybe a bit rarer (both less than a handful of known pieces)

what does the caseback look like on this one ?

edit: I just did a quick scan through google pics , there might be a few more 801's than 786's pics ? , I did recognize that some of the 786 cases were restamped with 801 , so maybe that is why there are a few more 801's than 786's

Do you guys see the value of the 786 and 801 increasing in value in the near future? Are these good investments I wonder?

if they are in good condition , yes , but it depends largely on the price you pay right now , if you pay 10K - 12K for a 786 I doubt you will see a price increase within lets say 4 - 5 years (but my crystal ball is foggy at the moment so dont pin me down on this !)

and good condition to me is :

-: no damaged dial
-: all original parts , no reprinted dials
-: patina on dial is ok , damage is not
-: case wear marks is OK , worn out is not OK
