I'm new to the world of vintage watches and I'm still developing my ability to spot a real watch out of the sea of fake/franken-monsters out there.

This one caught my eye, and I actually was able to inspect it in person last night. The printing on the dial looks crisp to me, although I was surprised at how reflective and bright the copper-colored hour numerals were.

Anyone think this would be a good first purchase?

Franken is actually better, dial could be from an original ref. 171. case is non-Breitling

The fact it says VXB on the balance cock might be a clue. (VXB = Chase, Hamilton, Louis)

Some "lucky" bidder is going to win it...
