Dear All,

In my hunt for my first vintage watch I have stumbled upon the following; a cadette ref 1197 from 1955 (nr.: 848...). After some research I think everything checks out except for the case, which I am estimating to have a high probability of not being the original.

What do you think?
Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

Matthijs

Great! Well the pictures I saw had somewhat less of an angle to the bezel edge. And there were also some examples of ref 1197 with Chronograph Suisse cases. So that's where my suspicion came from. I will let you know if I am able to buy it!

EDIT: forgot to thank you for the reply; thank you!

if there were examples of a 1197 w/ a "Chronographe Suisse" case these were fake, like ALL other dual caseback 18k "Breitling" chronographs, these low cost (and very low quality) cases were never used by Breitling.

this case is perfectly correct, manufactured in 1955 - bears all correct markings and serial.

zero doubt.
