It looks all correct to me for a late 1947 model. But as i am not an expert on this model i would be ver appreciative of your expert opinions.
Many thanks

Would anybody want to comment on value in this condition?

pfff... eBay asking prices range from 3.5/4K to 16K (and sometimes even more)

fair market I would say 4.5 - 6.5K (euro/usd/gbp)

Hi again

I received the watch and it is very nice and unmolested. However it it was just polished a bit and seems to be in dire need of a service (dry movement not running well). Also the crystal is heavily scratched.
I bought it with a 24 month waranty and the dealer is willing to service it.
However I am concerned that they might not get it right/damage something as the dealer does not seem to know much about the watch/1940s Breitlngs. For example he asked me if I could source the correct crystal.

Should I risk it or rather send it to someone like Craig?
Also does anybody know where to get a period looking crystal or the diameter?

As always thank you so much in advance.

crystals for the 785 are easy to find, but the watchwaker should measure the original crystal to get the precise diameter. servicing a 72c without any experience with the caliber can go badly wrong, would suhhest to try and find someone who knows those.

I'm unsure if Craig accepts new customers again, but suggest you contact him and ask ?
